Privacy policy
Last updated: 3 May 2026. This policy explains what data is collected when you use this site and how it is handled.
Who we are
This site, takisnearme.co.uk, is an independent UK fan site. The data controller is the sole trader operating this site from England. We are not affiliated with Grupo Bimbo, Barcel USA, or Takis GB Ltd. For any privacy enquiry, contact us via the contact page.
What data we collect
Contact form submissions. If you use the contact form, we collect the store name, store location (optional), a description of your correction, and — if you choose to provide it — your email address. This data is transmitted through our hosting provider (Vercel, Inc.) and forwarded to us via our email delivery provider (Resend, Inc.). We do not store it in a separate database; it resides in our email inbox and is deleted when no longer needed, typically within 12 months. The lawful basis for this processing is consent — you freely chose to submit the form. Where you supply an email address, we use it solely to reply to your correction report.
Hosting and server data. Every page request is handled by Vercel, Inc., our hosting provider. Vercel may process your IP address, browser type, and request metadata in server logs. We do not access these logs directly; they are governed by Vercel's Privacy Policy. Vercel acts as a data processor on our behalf.
Search queries. When you use the postcode search, your browser sends the query and your IP address directly to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim and Overpass API services. This traffic is not routed through our servers and we do not see it.
Nothing else. We run no server-side analytics, operate no user accounts, and set no tracking or advertising cookies of our own.
Cookies and local storage
We use browser local storage — not a cookie set by this site — to remember your cookie consent choice. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party.
We do not set any cookies ourselves. Third-party services listed below may set their own cookies subject to their own policies. In particular, OpenStreetMap tile servers may set cookies or log your IP address when the map loads after a search. We have no control over this.
If you choose Reject non-essential on the cookie banner, no non-essential processing is initiated by this site. Because we set no tracking cookies ourselves, the functional behaviour of the site is identical either way.

Affiliate and sponsored links
Some links on this site are affiliate links, clearly marked where used. If you click one and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. Clicking an affiliate link does not cause us to share your personal data with the retailer beyond what your browser sends when visiting any website. The retailer's own privacy policy governs your data once you leave this site. Affiliate relationships do not influence which stockists appear in search results.
